Greg Ridge is a passionate and dedicated public servant representing the community in which he was born and raised. He works hard for constituents and to make King's Town a better place. With his background in accounting and public policy, he works collaboratively to find solutions for the complex problems facing King's Town and Kingston.
BIOGRAPHY
Greg Ridge was born and raised in King’s Town and Kingston. He is a graduate of Queen’s University (BA, MPA), St. Lawrence College, and Laurentian University (BBA). His career includes serving as a theatre producer, Finance Officer for the McDonald Institute at Queen’s, and Legislative and Constituency Assistant to a former Member of Provincial Parliament for Kingston and the Islands. He lives with his wife, Zoe, and their son, Gary.
Greg leads through pragmatism and by example. On Council, he works with constituents, experts, and fellow Councillors to achieve the best outcomes for the community. He has advocated directly to federal and provincial Ministers and Deputy Ministers on issues including safety and security, mental health and addictions, and food insecurity, and has appeared on national media discussing these and other important issues.
With a background in accounting and public policy, Greg understands the challenges facing residents and businesses. He believes in reducing unnecessary administrative burdens on businesses and entrepreneurs to strengthen the local economy and create greater community benefits. The same approach supports opportunities for Kingston’s arts and cultural sectors.
